- The University of Minnesota Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) recently welcomed colleagues from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UT-RGV) to discuss collaborative efforts in both the Partnership for Research and Education in Materials (PREM) program and other MRSEC-based efforts. MRSEC faculty and researchers from five University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering departments (CEMS, Chemistry, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Physics) met with visiting UT-RGV faculty members to build and support education and research collaborations, with the goal of strengthening representation of minority students in materials science.
The UT-RGV campus visit on August 8-9, 2017 included various tours, activities and meetings among MRSEC faculty, UT-RGV faculty and PREM REU students.
